Yoga Therapy & Accessible Small Group Yoga Classes from the heart of the Scottish Borders.

Yoga works not just to improve our physical health; but mental health, mood and outlook on life. Find a yoga practice that works to help you not just to live, but to truly thrive.

Yoga is at its heart a transformative practice. Your yoga journey will change you. Not maybe in the way you expect; but can change you. So whether you are looking to move a bit more or change your relationship to your body, preparing for big changes in your life or a new perspective on living with a long term condition or injury, yoga has something offer to improve your wellbeing, relationships and overall quality of life. I teach accessible, varied yoga that can work for your body: if you can breathe, you can practice yoga.

Yoga. What’s stopping you?

If you can breathe, and have a body, then you can do yoga. You don’t have to be fit or flexible. You don’t need to wear leggings or be able to get up and down to the floor. You don’t have to be calm, relaxed or have it all figured out (most of us practice because we are far from these things!).

  • Maybe you are going through a lot in your life right now and want the flexibility of a practice which can be tailored to you on that day and fit around your life.

  • Maybe you are looking for a practice which can support you through a period of transition or help you to figure out what you need (e.g. break-ups, divorce, changing jobs, careers or retiring; moving, menopause, kids or coming to term with an illness or injury)

  • Maybe you have a long term condition, injury or mobility restriction that makes it hard to get up and down from the floor or makes it hard to feel like you can do yoga.

  • Maybe you hate the idea of showing up in leggings and the idea of being asked to do a downward facing dog terrifies you.

  • Maybe you are tired of trying to figure out what works for your body from online videos or fast paced group classes

  • Maybe you work as a psychotherapist or counsellor or in a caring profession supporting others and want a practice to support and nourish you to help you hold space for others.

  • Maybe you have demanding job and/or family life and need to create some space for yourself.

  • Maybe you have an idea that there might be more to yoga than fancy poses (breath work, meditation, philosophy) and want to delve deeper in your practice

  • Maybe its none, or all of these. We all come to yoga for a million different reasons. It won’t magically fix anything; but it may offer some insight into your own habits, body and mental health needs.

  • Maybe you live in Galashiels or Edinburgh and think my teaching might be a good fit for you.

  • From chair yoga to eye yoga; breath work practices (pranayama), meditation and mindfulness to philosophy and dynamic physical practice (gentle to dynamic) - there is so much that yoga can offer. You don’t even need to leave your house. Get in touch and let’s explore what you might have to offer for you.
